Welcome to John Parker Arena
At our monthly meeting this month, we have changed a very important rule that effects every member that rides.  We decided to allow substitute horses for points calculation.  Each rider now accumulates points for end of the year awards based on a horse and rider combination.  If the primary horse in this combination becomes incapacitated for any reason, a rider may substitute a horse for one or multiple shows.  The rider must inform the arena secretary when sigining up for events, and the horse that is being substituted for may not run any event in that month, or any month that there is a substitute.  We feel that this rule change will allow riders to continue to accumulate points in the unfortunate event that the horse becomes injured or sick, and also allows for the return of the horse when healthy.
The time for our fundraiser is drawing near.  We are holding a fundraiser for Bunny Marsicano on July 5th, 2008.  There will be an open class fun show starting at 11:00am, a barbeque starting at 3:00pm and an auction begining at 5:00pm.  Please come and show your support.  If you have any items to donate, please contact me.  We are also looking for more business sponsorships.  More information on this later, please plan to attend.
Our work is scheduled for Saturday, July 12th, beginning at 8:00am.  We have some minor repairs and cleaning to take care of.  If you can help, please come.  If you would like to donate materials, please let me know.
Blessing to you all.
Shirley
For those of you that do not know us, we are a local civic organization dedicated to providing a place for families to share knowledge, fellowship and a love of horses.
We are best known for our Quadrille team.  This talented and dedicated group of equestrians perform for rodeos, horse shows and a variety of events.  This amazing team puts on a show that pushes the limits of horse and rider beyond what most of us can conceive.  It is a performance not to be missed.
We are proud to be able to hold a speed show each third Saturday of every month with the exception of December.  Our shows are open to the public and include barrels, flags, pole bending, buddy pick-up and a special event that promises to test the ability of horse and rider.  We have events for all age classes.  If you plan to bring your horse you should be aware that for the health and safety of our horses and yours, we require proof of negative Coggins for all animals on the grounds.  We check at the gate and allow no exceptions.
We hold our meetings on the second Tuesday of every month.  We enjoy a covered dish supper prior to the meeting.  This is where the decisions are made that effect every member of the club and we invite all members to attend.
Please feel free to contact me at any time.
